Oh, What Can It Mean?

August 29th, 2009

Playing around with the theme for the blog. I found a great one for Halloween, but I guess it’s a little too early for that. :-)

Meanwhile, check out these clips of Davy that I took with my camera when we were at Krazy Deadwood Nites last week. The image quality isn’t very good, but the audio is! First, Davy singing “She Hangs Out,” and doing that famous dance move:

And a super short clip of Davy (and the crowd) singing “Daydream Believer”:

Bittersweet October

October 15th, 2008

October is the best month of the year. Leaves, pumpkins, grapes, apples, Halloween! I’ve been watching scary movies (as much as I can stand by myself), and enjoying kicking up the leaves when I walk my miles on the canal path. Tonight I took a few autumn-inspired pictures (and used some Photoshop filters on some of them), like the grapes from Scott and Debbie’s vineyard (ha!) above. And here’s a shot of a little pumpkin I bought at the farmer’s market at work today:

Tracy brought me some delicious cider from Wager’s on Sunday – it’s like fall in a cup. Thanks, Tra!

And not that this has anything to do with the season, but here’s a picture of The Bean. As usual, just because.

The title of this post is from a quote by Carol Bishop Hipps:

Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter.

Do I Have To Do This All Over Again?

March 17th, 2008

Okay, so the old blog is history. We’re starting fresh! All photo albums are still available; you can see them here (and my older pictures are on Flickr, here).

A bit of business for all my faithful readers: you’re going to have to re-register to comment again. But this will be good news to those of you who can’t seem to remember your passwords!

My old posts are all gone, but – great timing! – Lisa just uploaded her pictures from our night out at the Down Under in Dallas. Check them out here. Many, many great photos of Q making fun faces!

When I was down in the Big D, I came across a t-shirt I totally loved, but the store didn’t have it in my size. I found a similar one online, and it arrived on Friday night (the night of the death of the old Font of Nothing, as a matter of fact). Check it out:

(For the record, my current average pace is 13:03 per mile. Try to keep up!) It came wrapped in tissue paper and tied with ribbon, and there was even a hand-written, personalized note on the invoice. This company, One More Mile Running, has a customer for life!

The title of this post comes from a Monkees song:

Do I have to do this all over again?
Didn’t I do it right the first time?
Do I have to do this all over again?
How many times do I have to make this climb?
Didn’t I? Didn’t I?

Still playing around with the look of the site… Let me know what you think!
