Easter, Belatedly

April 18th, 2009

Yeah, I know, it’s been almost a week since Easter. But it’s been a busy week! Above is a picture of some flowers that Tra had on the kitchen table last Sunday. Gorgeous! And here is a shot of Kate, home from college, showing Grandma some love:

And here’s another super adorable shot of Kate with Jen:

Finally, here’s Grandma sporting the latest in spring (?) headgear. It’s a lovely look for you, Arlene. :-)

Happy belated Easter!

You Feel Like Whistling

April 5th, 2009

Another busy week (Gilda’s, audio, work, workouts, shopping, too much TV), and another busy weekend. Yesterday Andrea and I braved the hurricane-force winds and rain/sleet/snow (welcome to April in upstate New York) and spent the morning at the Public Market. The pictures above and below are from the produce stands there. Yes, that’s snow on the grapes below!

Today was a PY day; I snapped a few shots while Mom, Dad, Jennie, and I were out on our afternoon walk, including this one of a busted old sign on Liberty Street near Main:

Here are some flowers growing outside The Oliver House Museum on Main Street:

And now for something completely different, here’s a picture of The Bean, who was busy soaking up the sunshine this morning on my Fruit Stripe gum-inspired comforter:

Finally, Lindsay was kind enough to model a lovely shirt that traveled all the way from Penn Yan and spent several nights on a bush before winding up in my possession. I think it would go (not match) really well with a pair of Water Jeans, Linds!

The title of this post is from a quote by Doug Larson:

Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.
