Last week, JPo promised me, in exchange for some sign-offs on a project we’re working on, the “best present ever.” I doubted him at the time. Yesterday, he proved me wrong. Smarties!

Strawberry jam day! Since Grandma Richmond taught me how to make jam three summers ago, it’s become a yearly tradition for me to whip up the sticky deliciousness for the family. Today I made 18 jars. Yum! Above is a picture of the finished product. And below is silly self-portrait. Yes, a self-portrait of me and a jar of jam.

As you can see, Chavo helped out on jam day by reading the funny papers. Thanks, Bean!

The title of this post comes from a quote by Jonathan Swift:
…instead of dirt and poison, we have rather chosen to fill our lives with honey* and wax, thus furnishing mankind with the two noblest things, which are sweetness and light.
*Maybe not honey.

Traveled down to the 315 to give presents and kisses to Dad and Grandpa, and for an early celebration of Meggie Mae’s birthday as well. Above is a picture of the Richmond family dads: Bussey, Tom, Scott, and Rogee. And below is a picture of Meg and her sister mom.

And for good measure, here’s an extra picture of Grandpa surrounded by presents. Is it Christmas, or Father’s Day?!

Happy Father’s Day!
The title of this post comes from a quote by Adabella Radici:
I love my father as the stars – he’s a bright shining example and a happy twinkling in my heart.

My little guy is eleven today! I tried to get a nice portrait, but he was hopped on on tuna (the ultimate kitty birthday dinner), so here are the results. A self-portrait (above), a “hey, what’s that string hanging off the camera?” shot, and an action shot. Happy birthday, Bean!

We survived the trip to Hershey! The picture above is my favorite from the trip – Jennie on the chair swings at the end of the day. We spent over eight hours wandering around the park (so much bigger than it was all those years ago, even though our legs are longer), riding rides, eating deep-fried foods, and gawking at all the people. Jen even won two – count ‘em! – prizes at one of the arcade games. We wrapped up the beautiful, sunny day with a trip through the chocolate factory. A great, if exhausting, weekend!
One of the more thrilling rides turned out to be the antique cars – and that’s because we let Jennie drive! Here’s some photographic evidence:

Here’s a picture of the sun and the Ferris Wheel:

And here’s a picture of Mom and Dad enjoying the breeze:

Here’s a picture of Jen and me just before the Tilt-a-Whirl started up:

And here’s an action shot of the chair swings:

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
Behold, the wonder of Photoshop*!

*Thanks, Meggie!
