Delicious Ambiguity

April 30th, 2010

Tonight was the Gilda’s Club volunteer recognition dinner. I got recognized! (Thanks, Gilda’s staff.) It’s pretty random that I got involved with Gilda’s simply because I’d once walked a half marathon and they needed trainers for their new half marathon program, and now here we are, two years later. If it weren’t for Gilda’s, I wouldn’t know KPo, featured in this self-portrait (and of course he looks better than me!):

And I wouldn’t have Jojo in my life! What would I do without her?! Here she is, at long last:

The title of this post is from, of course, Gilda Radner:

Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity.

Always Hugh

Hugh Panaro was in town this weekend, performing in a concert version of South Pacific with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Johanna, her mom, and I went to the show, and afterwards I got to visit with Hugh for a little bit (photo by Jojo). The only thing missing was Sarah!

Cheaper Than Therapy

April 19th, 2010

A couple of random pictures from events past… First up: Cathy, me, and Alex on the morning of the Rochester Half Marathon last September. Race mornings = the only time I go out in public without eye makeup!

And here’s a shot of me and Sarah out and about in Rochester on St. Patrick’s Day weekend:

*applies to cousins, too :-)

I Want to Go to There

April 12th, 2010

Just booked a cottage in York for a week in October. This is the view from the living room.

That’s a picture of Keuka Lake that I took a few years ago. Check out the site here.

What It Is Made

Happy Easter! Above is a picture of Grandpa celebrating at Tom and Tracy’s today; below is Grandma and the girls enjoying the afternoon sun on the back deck.

And here’s a shot of me and Kate, home from college (her, not me, obviously).

In non-Easter news, last weekend, Linds, Julia, Heather, and I went to Buffalo to see (the hysterical and bloody) Evil Dead: The Musical – and as a bonus, I got to see my old college friend Tammy! Here we are with Ash – minus a hand:

And yesterday Mon Pion, Sophie, and I luncheoned at Biaggi’s:

Finally, here’s a self-portrait of Katie, Heather, and me, all gussied up for Singles Mingle:

Life is partly what we make it, and partly what it is made by the friends we choose.
